Key findings:
1) The program aims to educate and train key members from ethnocultural communities into ‘animators’ who can act as community leaders and liaisons.
2) Key inputs fall into 5 categories: human resources, material resources, funding, time and community partnerships. A comprehensive list of activities and outputs are also identified.
3) Short-term outcomes include: creating skilled, confident and knowledgeable animators, alongside increasing empowerment, accountability, funding and community capacity.
4) Medium-term outcomes include: increasing attraction and retention of animators, build anti-racism capacities, build knowledge for culturally responsive community engagement, and increase community investment in the program.
5) Long-term outcomes include: animators identify and respond to community needs to improve quality of life, animators and community members are empowered to build stronger and healthier communities, simplified and expedited integration of new immigrants into their communities.
